Why does the "LO" symbol appear after the meter draws blood and starts the countdown?

The "LO" symbol indicates that the test result is below the measurable range of the device. This may occur due to the following reasons:

1.For meters requiring code calibration:
If the correct calibration code has not been set, it may affect test accuracy and trigger the "LO" prompt.

2.Insufficient blood sample:
The test chamber must be filled completely (e.g., covering all three indicator marks). An inadequate sample may cause the "LO" warning.

After verifying and resolving the above issues, please perform the test again. If the same result persists, it is recommended to confirm with a hospital test and be aware of potential hypoglycemia.

What should I do if the meter won't turn on?

1.Please check whether the batteries are installed in the correct orientation (positive/negative terminals) and if they have sufficient power.

2.Press and hold the power button for more than 3 seconds to see if the meter starts.

3.For newly purchased meters, check whether the insulation strip behind the battery cover has been removed.

4.Ensure that the test strips you are using are compatible with the meter model.

5.Verify that the test strip is inserted in the correct direction.

Is it normal to see discrepancies when comparing my device with some imported devices at the same time?

Yes, it is normal. Different brands and models of blood glucose meters may show variations in readings due to differences in technology, detection principles, methods, and inherent system errors (all blood glucose meters have a margin of error). Therefore, it is not appropriate to compare results between different meters. Instead, the accuracy of a blood glucose meter should be verified by comparing its results with those from a hospital laboratory biochemical analyzer.

How accurate is my blood glucose meter?
Home blood glucose meters use capillary whole blood (from finger-prick samples), while hospital laboratory analyzers use venous blood samples. This difference in sample type can lead to different glucose readings.

Note: Both home blood glucose meters and hospital laboratory equipment have inherent margins of error. The national standard allows for a variance of ±20%. For example, if one test result is 8.0 mmol/L and an immediate follow-up test shows 7.2 mmol/L, this difference is within the acceptable range and does not affect clinical decision-making. Doctors do not typically adjust medication or treatment plans based on such minor variations.
