Will low battery power affect the accuracy of the blood glucose meter?
No, it will not affect accuracy. When the battery power is low, the meter will display a battery icon and an "E-1" prompt. Please replace the batteries as soon as possible when this occurs.
I had already set the time and date for my last blood glucose test. Why does the meter display an incorrect time or date again during today's test?
This may happen due to the following reasons:
(1) The batteries were replaced or reinstalled before this test. After powering on, the time and date settings need to be reconfigured.
(2) The accuracy of the time and date does not affect the precision of blood glucose readings.
The meter starts the countdown immediately after inserting the test strip, even before applying blood. Why does this happen?
This may occur due to the following reasons:
(1) Poor contact: Please reinsert the test strip. This issue can arise if the strip is not properly connected to the meter's port.
(2) Expired or damp test strips: If the test strips have expired or have been exposed to moisture, this situation may occur.
(3) Prolonged exposure to air: If the time between opening the test strip (or removing it from the vial) and applying the blood sample exceeds three minutes, the strip may become oxidized due to prolonged air exposure. This can trigger the countdown or an "E-3" error message after the meter attempts to draw blood.
